Eurecat-CTM (the Technology Centre of Catalonia) organised the LIFE Projects technical conference: Water, waste and circular economy on 8 November 2016, at their facilities in Manresa (Spain). The aim of the conference was to publicise the achievements of 12 LIFE projects working in this area, and to offer an opportunity to network and share experiences.
Following an introductory session - with contributions from Eurecat-CTM and the European Commission - the conference was splitted into two parallel sessions. Beneficiaries from LIFE RELEACH , LIFE REMEMBRANE, LIFE FoundryTileLIFE Ceram, LIFE ECORKWASTE, and LIFE VINEYARDS4HEAT presented their results at the waste and circular economy session; while project partners from LIFE ZELDA, LIFE-OFREA, LIFE InSiTrate, LIFE REGENERA LIMIA, LIFE WIRE and the new LIFE REWATCH (LIFE15 ENV/ES/000480) project summarized their progress in the water session.
In the afternoon, there were visits to the pilot plants developed under the LIFE RELEACH (lixiviates treatment pilot plant), LIFE ECORKWASTE (gasification pilot plant) and LIFE InSiTrate (in situ treatment of nitrates from groundwater) projects, all involving Eurecat-CTM as a beneficiary.
The LIFE Communications team participated at the conference, both with a presentation of good practices developed by LIFE on the conference themes and at an exhibition stand.
